How to appeal against a decision on housing allowance

Incorrect information about student status

You may appeal if incorrect information about student status has been used, or if you believe that you are covered by one of the exemption rules.

The following exceptions may provide grounds for an appeal:

If the student in the household is in primary school, you can appeal the decision.

Having "adult rights" means that you have a statutory right to education from the year you turn 25. If the student in the household is in upper secondary education and has an adult right to education, you can appeal the decision.

If there is any doubt as to whether the student began their education after the age of 25, you should also attach confirmation that the student has the "adult right" to education.

If the study/education is a work-oriented measure in collaboration with Nav or the municipality, you can appeal the decision.

If the student/student received any of these benefits, you can appeal the decision.

If the student/pupil/apprentice has temporarily moved to the place of study, we may consider deleting the person from the application. You can then appeal the decision.
