Housing costs included in the calculation
The housing costs included when calculating your housing allowance depend on the type of housing you live in.
Rental housing
The following costs are included:
- rent
- if heating costs are not fully or partly included in the rent, a standard amount of NOK 613 per month is added to cover heating costs
Housing with shared costs (housing cooperatives, condominiums, share apartments and bond apartments)
The following costs are included:
- shared charges
- interest and repayments on a housing loan, but only the part of the loan used to purchase or carry out necessary improvements to the home
- if heating costs are not fully or partly included in the shared charges, a standard amount of NOK 613 per month is added to cover heating costs
Housing without shared costs
The following costs are included:
- interest and repayments on a housing loan, but only the part of the loan used to purchase or carry out necessary improvements to the home
- property tax, where applicable, and ground rent
- a standard annual allowance of NOK 14,732 for external maintenance and home insurance
- municipal charges, calculated automatically based on information registered by the municipality in the housing allowance system
