Simon Kjær Hansen manages the ‘City Development’ department in the City of Copenhagen’s Technical and Environmental Administration, which is responsible for planning and strategy in areas such as housing, mobility and environmental policy as well as the city’s Policy for Disadvantaged areas in Copenhagen. Simon has a background as policy advisor in the Danish Finance Ministry and the UK Cabinet Office, before coming to the City of Copenhagen in 2006, where he has since worked in various positions including as Chief of Staff in the Lord Mayors Office. Simon also teaches a course on Urban strategy and governance at the University of Copenhagen’s Department for Political Science. He holds a degree in Political Science from The University of Copenhagen and the New School University in New York.
