Social housing, universal design and environmentally friendly housing

Housing for disadvantaged groups, universally designed homes and buildings and environmentally friendly building practices are the Norwegian State Housing Bank's main areas of responsibility.

  Providing housing for disadvantaged groups such as the homeless, refugees and disabled people is a major priority in Norwegian housing policy.

  Universal design ensures accessibility for all, and enables people to live in their own homes if their physical abilities are limited.

  Environmentally friendly housing

  Environmentally friendly housing has low energy consumption, makes use of environmentally friendly building materials and has a good indoor climate.
